This Quick Guide to the Dragonfllies of South Africa fills the gap left by our out-of-print Fieldguide to the Dragonflies of South Africa and it is a companion to our damselfly fieldguide. It illustrates 87 of the 93 dragonfly (Anisoptera) species currently known to occur in South Africa, all shown to scale at 1.25x life-size.
The guide is 1.2 m wide when fully opened (see below) and folds down to a handy field size which comes in a sturdy plastic sleeve. Below the fold-out view is an example of a double spread and below that, a view of the detail - male and female top and side illustrations, distribution map and English, Afrikaans and Latin names.
